It is difficult to watch our pets get older. Older pets can have mobility issues, changes in their vision, hearing and cognitive function, and have increased health problems. Dr Croom can suggest environmental changes, changes in daily routines, nutritional changes, and we can offer medications and supplements that help pets make the most of their senior years. We want to work with you and your veterinarian to assess and develop optimal plans for your pet's changing needs. Alternative care is integrated with conventional medical methods to increase the animal's quality of life. For senior pets this can mean significant improvement in mobility and decreased pain from arthritis and sore muscles. For hospice patients it can mean improvement in appetite, decrease in pain and an overall happier attitude. Acupuncture has a variety of uses to help pets. We can decrease pain and inflammation after an injury, offer a mode of relaxation for pets with cognitive dysfunction, improve mobility and decrease pain from arthritis, ease signs of Geriatric Vestibular Disease, help with incontinence issues, improve circulation, aid organ function, etc. Chiropractic care can also be used to help with mobility issues. We offer Class IV Laser therapy as another way to improve blood circulation and decrease pain and inflammation with degenerative joint changes as well as help heal wounds and infections. We also employ a selection of whole food nutritional supplements and herbal therapies to work with traditional medications or as the primary form of medication.
